Add Domain Name to Existing CIRA Profile

You can add your new .ca Domain Name to an existing CIRA profile by providing your Registrant Number. Fields denoted with an (*) are mandatory.

Registrant Information

The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) requires that new .ca registrants are correctly defined prior to acquiring a domain. As a result, you must provide two key components: a legal type and a registrant name.

The Registrant number is not the CIRA User Account Number.

This method will send an email to the Registrant's Admin Contact. The order will not be submitted to CIRA until the Admin Contact approves the order request.

The registrant's name must be complete official name of city without any abbreviation, such as "City of Ottawa". Help

To register a municipal domain the registrant's Legal Type must be 'Government'. Government has been preselected in this form on your behalf. Help

Once the domain is registered, you will not be able to change the registrant name. Please make sure to use the proper registrant name format.

It is important to select the proper legal type. This information is reviewed for accuracy by the CA Registry. Failure to properly identify a legal type will result in having to correct the information later and may cause your order to fail.
